About the Program
Women in Leadership is a customized program for women leaders who are ready to take charge of their careers, develop as a leader and form lasting relationships with the fellow women in their cohort. Based on research and trends, this workshop will empower participants to shatter the glass ceiling and achieve their goals.
The content focuses on topic areas that will elevate your leadership capabilities to the next level and beyond. Grow with intention and start working and living life on purpose.
Women In Leadership provides a blended learning approach to participants including:
- In-person cohort-based activities and discussion
- In-person group coaching sessions
- One-on-one professional coaching
- Guided self-reflection and self-study
Chamber leadership programs prioritize creating spaces where diverse perspectives can come together to learn, grow, and push our community forward.
Program Facilitator:
Mita Fitzjohn is a professional coach, facilitator, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practitioner. She is dedicated to elevating female leaders, supporting them in their efforts to rise to their greatest professional and personal heights. Working with each leader’s unique strengths and talents, Mita partners with them to remove obstacles and barriers to create winning outcomes for leaders, teams, and organizations. Her approach drives self-discovery, development, and transformation of leaders at all levels.
Mita has expertise in a number of areas including written and verbal communications; consulting; sales; business ownership; sales leadership; project management; talent development; instructional design; training; and organizational effectiveness, with over 25 years of experience.
As a Certified Professional Coach, she earned her coaching certificate through the Co-Active Training Institute. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Management from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA and a Master’s in Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School in Lake Forest, IL. She recently earned her Certified Diversity Professional designation from the Society for Diversity in Indianapolis, IN.
Mita resides in Ada, MI and is married to her loving husband, Jon, and is a proud mom of her two kind, talented, and amazing teenage kids, Averie and Evan. She is also a doting mom to her goofy dog, Wolfgang.

Cost and Scholarships
Program Cost: Tuition must be paid in full by the first class session.
Chamber Member: $1,500
Non-Member: $1,800

There are a limited number of partial scholarship funds available. Please submit the following scholarship application form NO LATER than 30 days prior to the first session to be considered.
