Virtual Ribbon Cutting – 3:30pm
Member Since: May 2020
Virtual Ribbon Cutting celebrating their opening and arrival in Grand Rapids. Invitation Only.
Founded in 2009, minority-owned Terrapin is a leading innovator and one of the nation’s most responsible and successful regulated marijuana companies. Terrapin’s principals helped craft rules, regulations, and internal operating procedures that govern the marijuana industry today.
Their launch in Michigan will draw upon that decade-worth of industry experience while planting local roots in the Grand Rapids community. At a time of economic uncertainty, Terrapin is creating jobs and adding to the city’s economic development. They will place a focus on diversity as they establish operations in Grand Rapids, drawing upon our experience with Color of Cannabis. The group provides technical business support, mentorship training and partnerships for people of color and stakeholders negatively impacted by cannabis prohibition. Color of Cannabis will oversee a job fair for Terrapin to ensure diversity in hiring. Details on this to come.
Their plans for Michigan include serving as an advocate for patients, pushing for research and keeping prices affordable. And as Grand Rapids explores adult-use marijuana sales, Terrapin will continue to work with local officials and community leaders to ensure a program that is responsible and leaves a positive impact, both economically and socially. To move the needle on social issues, they have developed partnerships with local nonprofits, including Kids’ Food Basket and MomsBloom.
