Friends of Grand Rapids Parks staff and board members are celebrating their new office space with a Ribbon-Cutting following their board meeting. Chamber Ambassadors are welcome to attend. An Open House for the general public will be scheduled at a later date.
Friends of Grand Rapids Parks (FGRP) was founded in 2008 with the mission to empower people to cultivate vibrant parks, trees, and green spaces in the Grand Rapids community. Their vision of thriving parks and a sustainable urban forest that actively supports the community’s economic, environmental, and cultural health curates their belief that all people in the community are entitled to experiences in parks and opportunities to connect with nature.
FGRP, in partnership with the Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department, aims to meet the goals of the city’s Master Plan by working with community members to create stewards for parks and trees. Their volunteer program connects thousands of residents with opportunities to beautify a park or plant a tree each year. Visit the website for more details on this program.
They are excited to celebrate the opening of their new office space that mirrors the community’s focus of a family-style kitchen, an area for hosting Lunch & Learn or Brown Bag events, an open office style workspace for staff, as well as meeting spaces for community partners.
