Leadership Lesson Breakfasts feature strong community trustees and leaders sharing valuable leadership lessons. In addition to a brief presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to network with Chamber members and connect with other leadership alumni.

Meet the Speakers
Jamon Alexander | President & CEO, WMCAT
Jamon Alexander joined WMCAT in 2015, and now leads the organization’s work to provide equitable access to opportunity as president + CEO. Most recently the director of Workforce Development at WMCAT, Jamon spent six years growing the nationally recognized program that provides holistic support and career training to adults seeking living-wage careers in the healthcare industry.
A passionate nonprofit professional, Jamon has led fundraising and volunteer efforts at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, Spectrum Health Foundation and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the Heart of West Michigan United Way. He is a community advocate and activist, and serves as a member of the Grand Rapids Chamber’s Create Great Leaders Council, a KConnect trustee, and a member of the Kent County Essential Needs Task Force. Jamon is also a founder of BL²END and continues to serve on the Advisory Board. He is alumni of the REAL (Racial Equity in Action Leadership) cohort with the National Equity Project, and has served as a core team member of Invest Health, a national initiative that addresses the social determinants to health.
In 2014, he was given the Community Advocate Award by Grand Rapids Young Professionals; and he was named one of 40 Under 40 by the Grand Rapids Business Journal in 2013, 2015, and 2019. Jamon earned his Bachelor degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University, who named him Young Alumni of the Year in 2012.
Yeli Romero | President & CEO, Acceso VIP
Yeli Romero was born in Puebla, Mexico and immigrated to the US when she was 16 years old. At a young age, her mother taught her the value of hard work and perseverance. Yeli and her husband, Jesus, are the owners of ACCESO VIP, providing more than 20+ years combined experience specializing in digital marketing, social media, branding, photography, and event promotion. She has been a broadcaster at radio stations such as La Poderosa, La Mejor GR and Midwest Communications “Alegria Latina.” She is an influencer with a mission to help grow local businesses and amplify voices of diverse communities. She is also a certified Zumba instructor and is the Principle of Yeli’s Fitness providing public and private events integrating her love of dancing and promoting exercise to help people lead a healthy lifestyle. She values family, community, and opportunities to learn and grow as a professional. She is a wife and a mother, teaching her two children how to respect others and to value education. Yeli is passionate about her community and believes that a leader should always help others without expecting anything in return.
Daniel Williams | President, Steelcase Foundation
A leader in education and equity-centered design, Dr. Daniel Williams works to advance justice through education and community engagement. He believes deeply in the innate brilliance of community and the importance of centering the voices of those so often ignored. Through his work as President + CEO of the Steelcase Foundation, Daniel has led the revision of the Foundation’s giving strategies to uplift community voice and provide more intentional support for partners while leveraging the Foundation’s influence and expertise to drive and support larger-scale social change. Prior to his role at Steelcase Foundation, Daniel led the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology where he worked towards equity and innovation and was co-founder and principal of Grand Rapids University Prep Academy.
Daniel’s community work around racial equity and opportunity continues to drive him in philanthropy and in his work throughout community. In 2022 he was selected to be one of eighteen recipients of the prestigious Aspen Ascend Fellowship from The Aspen Institute. In 2020, he was elected to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees for Grand Rapids Community College. In 2018, he was appointed by then-Governor Rick Snyder to join the Michigan Consortium of Advanced Networks, and in 2019, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed him as vice-chairperson of the MI-STEM Council. He has been recognized with the Trust Award from the Better Business Bureau of West Michigan, is a three time 40 Under 40 recipient, was named the Grand Rapids Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Distinguished Alumni, and was honored with the Phyllis Scott Activist Award by the Woodrick Center for Diversity at Grand Rapids Community College. Daniel has an EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University, an MEd in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, and a BA from University of Iowa
