ATHENA Leadership Forum: Explore Your Brand with Bettie
For too long, we have been living by rules set by someone else on how we should develop and show up in the business world. Now is the time for you to establish your brand in a modern and intentional way.
Join us on Tuesday, June 8 for our next ATHENA Leadership Forum. We’ll hear from branding powerhouse and owner of three wildly successful businesses, Elise Kutt, and Certified Family Life Educator, Nicholette Driggs, as they challenge you to live authentically, delve into your brand to find what motivates you, and address how your relationship with your body impacts your brand.
Tuesday, June 8
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Members: $15 / Non-Members: $25
Meet the Speakers
A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Elise spent much of her 20s in a frantic search for adventure as a Chicago location scout and producer for advertising, catalog, and film shoots. She’s ridden a camel across the Sahara, swam in a cage surrounded by sharks, and scouted for the perfect hot tub to fill with hot chocolate and marshmallows. Elise is addicted to green juice, dying her hair, everything vintage, and the smell of new school supplies.
She started Mod Bettie in 2014 as a pin-up studio. It has now blossomed into a fempire, offering everything from personal branding to boudoir, with some vintage vibes tossed in for good measure. Elise has spent years studying the best ways to pose female bodies of every shape and size. In a society that puts a camera in every hand but is quick to shame the selfie, her mission is to create a safe and supportive environment for female self-expression. Empowering all women through photography is the reason why Mod Bettie is so unique and special. In October 2018, the Bettie spaces were expanded with the opening of a European-inspired lingerie boutique offering sizing XS-4X in store and online.
Seeing a need in the community for a place where women can voice their self-expression (and post those killer selfies), Elise created online community #SquadBettie in April of 2018. Starting with a handful of her favorite people, the group has grown to almost 4,000 female-identifying and non-binary humans comfortable in a space centered around the female experience.
“It’s about so much more than a simple portrait — it’s about self-awareness and self-love. Join me in a movement to #existinphotos.”
