A highly talented and diverse workforce is the key to new ideas and forward motion. West Michigan has made important investments to attract such talent to the area, but at the Chamber, we know first impressions are not enough. A magnetic community may attract talented people, but it is a truly diverse and inclusive community that will give everyone—from newcomers to local graduates—reasons to stay.
We work beside our nearly 2,700 businesses as they develop and retain their best talent. Our efforts start within organizations, where we help welcome new hires and create a plan to build a diverse workforce. And our efforts extend to the community, where we connect professionals and engage them in shaping a community where everyone is welcome.
Professionals of all backgrounds can get connected and tapped into the community and Grand Rapids’ diverse talent through the OutPro, Black Women Connect GR, and other Chamber networking programs. Events are happening every month, visit the Chamber calendar to see what’s coming up next.
