The Chamber announced the official launch of the Partnership for a Sustainable Community on January 6, 2010. 

Members that join the Partnership will receive an easy-to-use carbon calculator designed to guide a business through a review of its current business practices while offering dozens of suggestions for improving energy efficiency and ultimately, reduce costs.

Modeled after innovative programs in other U.S. cities, the Chamber’s Partnership for a Sustainable Community was established to focus the Grand Rapids business community on voluntary solutions that will preserve the environment and promote energy efficiency . This new venture is a unique opportunity for Grand Rapids to garner recognition as a leader in the green movement that is taking place all over the country. The Partnership carries the dual goals of spurring economic growth and reducing regional greenhouse gas emissions.
