The Diversity Visionary Award was created by the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce in 2003. The award is given to a person or organization that demonstrates excellence and commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, innovative leadership in improving cultural competency and the ability to elevate and encourage ongoing efforts that contribute to a pluralistic and welcoming community. The Diversity Visionary Award Celebration is a biennial event held in odd years.
