Membership

The Tax & Regulatory Affairs Committee reviews issues as they relate to taxes and regulations that increase the cost of doing business. The committee provides analysis and develops positions to create an economic environment that fosters equitable tax burdens for businesses and consumers, while protecting essential government services. The committee is comprised of Chamber members who primarily hold accounting, financial or tax responsibilities within their organizations or firms.

Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce Announces 2011-2012 Legislative Priorities

The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce listens carefully to it members and turns member input into advocacy and action with the goal of improving Michigan's economic competitiveness. These legislative priorities are intended to focus policy makers' attention on the economic challenges facing Michigan and to offer pro-business solutions to these problems. Whenever possible, Chamber staff will work across party lines with elected officials to shape good public policy.
