ATHENA Award and ATHENA Young Professional Award
Nomination and Selection Process

Deadline for Submitting Nominations – Extended to Friday, June 3, 2016

Individuals submitted for nomination will be asked to complete a Nominee Application should they wish to be considered for a 2016 ATHENA or ATHENA Young Professional Award. Additional information and/or a formal application may be required. Forms will be distributed to nominees as needed upon receipt of their nomination.

Nominee info and applications submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by a Selection Committee made up of community leaders. Committee members will score applications using a point system to measure an individual’s responses against the Award criteria and the ATHENA Leadership Model.

Ten finalists for each award will be selected, and will be recognized during the ATHENA Award Luncheon and in various GRACC communications. The ATHENA Award and ATHENA Young Professional Award recipients will be chosen from this group of ten finalists.

ATHENA Nominees must be available the following dates and times:

Tuesday, August 30, 2016                            Thursday, September 15, 2016
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.                                    11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

The ATHENA® Award recognizes a recipient for their outstanding leadership and support of women both within their organization and throughout the greater Grand Rapids community. The award is open to males as well as females.

The ATHENA Young Professional Award recognizes an emerging leader (under 40) for their contributions to community, professional excellence and commitment to serve as a personal and professional role model for young women.
