Why EPIC, you ask?

EPIC stands for Entrepreneurial, Progressive, Innovative and Collaborative.

This dinner and awards celebration is new in format and name, but is a combination of three events that have long been on the Chamber’s calendar: the Small Business Celebration, Minority Business Celebration and Salute to West Michigan Business. If you have attended any of these three events in the past, you know how exciting it is to see the awards presented and hear from Chamber members about their success.

Awards and Nominations

The EPIC awards to be presented at this new event include:

Excellence in Business
Small Business of the Year
Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Minority-Owned Business of the Year
Woman-Owned Business of the Year

Anyone who is a member in good standing and has been a Chamber member for more than one year is eligible to be nominated.

NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED!

Thank you for all the nominations we received for these awards prior to the February 19, 2010 deadline.

Nominated people/organizations who want to continue with our nomination process will complete a more extensive questionnaire. From that, the top three finalists will be selected in each category. Finalists will then move on to an interview process in which the recipient for each award will be selected. All finalists will be highlighted at the dinner, with the recipients for the four awards to be announced that evening.

Criteria for all awards:

Nominees must be Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce members in good standing for at least one year by May 19, 2010.

Nominees should be businesses or individuals that support the local community, demonstrate growth and stability, stand out and are innovative. Prefer Nominees who have worked with other businesses as mentors or collaborators.
