January Policy Focus: Education
Each month in 2011 we will focus on a different area of public policy, informing members on the issues, what we are working on and how you can get involved. This month our focus is education, specifically teacher tenure reform.
Every child must have a chance to obtain a world-class education. Michigan cannot afford to waste opportunities to equip our future workforce with the skills they need to compete. There are many factors that contribute to a student’s success, however one could argue that nothing is more powerful than an effective teacher that can engage and inspire young minds. That is why part of the Chamber’s Education and Workforce Development Committee’s New Year’s resolution is to see effective teacher tenure reform passed in 2011. Read more…
