The Chamber’s new monthly program—Business Matters - The Breakfast Series—hit the ground running today with more than 60 people joining us to hear a community update from Brian Rykes about the Gerald R. Ford International Airport and to listen as Dan Gaydou, MLive Media Group shared his thoughts on Leading an Organization through Change.
After guiding MLive through a year of change and innovation to drive online news and social media, Gaydou had some inspiring wisdom and lessons learned—including urging attendees to face reality/avoid denial and embrace the opportunity for change now.
“You’ll find yourself wanting to change because it’s the right thing to do for your business,” he said. “Change the job, change the culture. Focus on what’s important, and be passionate about the change.”
Steven Null, director of field operations at UDECON, attended the event and noted that Gaydou’s talk was “a relevant topic and reaffirmed that we have to change in order to grow business.” Kris Ridings of Varnum Consulting enjoyed the program mix of a community update and business growth presentation/discussion.
