West Michigan D.C. FLY-IN

JUNE 11, 12 & 13, 2014

Join business, civic and community leaders from West Michigan as we meet with members of Congress, the Administration, agencies and policy experts on issues of importance to West Michigan. This year, the Grand Rapids Area Chamber will be hosting its DC Fly-In in conjunction with the US Chamber’s Small Business Summit.

The 10th Annual America’s Small Business Summit will bring together more than 800 business owners and chamber executives from across the country to network, hear from business and policy experts, and meet with their legislators on Capitol Hill.

Confirmed speakers include:
Former Secretary of State, General Colin Powell
Political analyst Charlie Cook, who will be giving a preview of the 2014 midterm elections
Steve Case, the co-founder of AOL and well-known entrepreneur
Susan O’Malley, first female president of a professional sports franchise;
Jim Vandehei, the founder and CEO of Politico.

While the keynote speakers alone are reason enough to attend, the summit will also feature a Governors Roundtable, a West Michigan reception on Capitol Hill Wednesday night, Hill visits Thursday morning and a special 10th anniversary reception at the Newseum.

See full US Chamber Summit agenda here.

The Chamber recognizes the need for Grand Rapids and West Michigan to play a more significant role in Washington. We have an opportunity to exercise our unique voice to advocate for issues and projects that are critical to our region's success. This trip is ideal for anyone interested in forming connections with our federal leaders and bring the issues affecting West Michigan business to the national scene.
