To provide yet another service to our members, the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce has joined with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in providing several health care programs that allow members to select their level of coverage from a wide range of care and benefits.
Community Blue PPO:
Community Blue PPO includes the choice and flexibility today’s health consumers demands:
- Comprehensive care, including preventive services
Low out-of-pocket expenses
- No claim form for care provided in the network
- The freedom to seek care outside of the provide network (at a higher cost) if you choose to do so.
Blue Care Network:
Blue Care Network (BCN), a subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM), delivers health care services through a statewide network of contracted physician groups, staff physicians and affiliated health care providers. BCN encourages members to seek preventative care from an affiliated primary card physician they select from the BCN network of carefully screened and selected physicians.
Next Flexible Blue:
Flexible Blue is a high deductible health plan that allows an employee to participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA). The premium savings typically is used to help fund the employee’s deductible. The high deductible can be funded with dollars provided by the employer, the employee or both. Once deposited these funds are immediately owned by the employee. Any unused funds remaining at the end of the year belong to the employee and will carry over for qualified health care expenses in future years. The idea is simple: if an employee is spending his or her own dollars for health care the more likely these health dollars will be spent in an economical way.
MyBlue:
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan offers a suite of individual plans to cover individuals and families at all stages of life. MyBlue products offer coverage to meet the needs of individuals at all stages, whether you’re single, self-employed, a recent college graduate, starting a family, or considering early retirement. Each plan offers quality benefits, flexibility and valuable services to fit your budget. Individual products available are; Individual Care Blue, Value Blue, Flexible Blue, Young Adult Blue, and Dental.
Dental Plans:
Blue Dental coverage offers the acceptance and recognition of the “Blue ID Card”, cost savings through effective utilization management programs and wide access to dentists. Blue dental plans are designed to promote good oral and dental health.
Prescription Drug Plans:
Preferred Rx provides comprehensive prescription drug benefits and access to a large network of participating pharmacies.
Vision Plans:
The Blue’s Vision Care plan covers services and materials that promote optimum visual health. The plan provides for eye examinations and testing, as well as a wide variety of lenses and frames. Therapeutic contact lenses are also covered.
