One critical component of the ATHENA Award Celebration is the awarding of scholarships to women over the age of 30 who are pursuing higher education.
The first ATHENA program in the country to establish a scholarship program, the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce has provided more than $40,000 in scholarship.
ATHENA Scholarships are unique in that recipients can use the money for whatever helps them achieve their degree, from tuition fees to childcare or transportation expenses. Women in the Greater Grand Rapids area, regardless of field of study or preferred college/university, are invited to apply.
