ATHENA Fundraiser

6th Annual ATHENA Scholarship Fundraiser

Celebrate the Tenet of Learning on August 14, 2013

Did you know? The Chamber has awarded more than $40,000 through the The ATHENA Scholarship Fund to help deserving women over the age of 30 who are pursuing higher education in the Grand Rapids area.

ATHENA Scholarships are unique in that recipients can use the money for whatever helps them achieve their degree, from tuition fees, to childcare or transportation expenses. Women in the Greater Grand Rapids area, regardless of field of study or preferred college/university, are invited to apply.

You are invited to join us for the 6th Annual ATHENA Scholarship Fundraiser that will be combined with a unique ATHENA Leadership Forum on August 14 at the Kent Country Club. A portion of each ticket sold will provide proceeds for the 2013 ATHENA Scholarship recipients, helping the ATHENA Scholarship Fund continue to support local women in their educational and career endeavors.

Dr. Jacqueline TaylorAt this special ATHENA Leadership Forum & Fundraiser, we will have the pleasure of hearing long-time community leader and ATHENA committee member Dr. Jacqueline Taylor from Pondera Advisors, LLC speak on the tenet of Learning—the art of challenging yourself to listen and be open to what is new and unfamiliar; expanding and developing your knowledge, skills and experiences; and teaching others.

The ATHENA Leadership Forum & Fundraiser is a perfect opportunity to grow personally and professionally while supporting a good cause. ATHENA Scholarships are unique in that recipients can use the money for whatever helps them achieve their degree, from tuition fees, to childcare or transportation expenses—building a brighter future for career, family, and personal goals.

Come for an afternoon of networking, lunching, and showing support for the women in our great community!
