Celebrate Business Success Stories & Inspire Leadership at the Chamber's 125th Annual Meeting

Mark your calendar for the 125th Annual Meeting on January 22, 2013!

Enjoy a leadership-focused program and a reception brimming with live music, food and drink, and member connections!

More than 600 business leaders—movers and shakers from all sectors of the community—will be joining us as we celebrate member success stories, meet our new board chair—Bill Benson, WilliamCharles Search Group—and share strategies to drive personal and community leadership forward in 2013.

The event will feature leadership expert, coach and author Dr. Lance Secretan! Secretan is perhaps best known for his work in leadership theory and how to inspire teams. His latest book, “The Spark, the Flame, and the Torch,” is based Secretan’s Higher Ground Leadership® philosophy and offers a comprehensive approach to being an inspiring person. Secretan’s latest best-seller is his masterwork and will be signing his book during the event.

Secretan is the former CEO of a Fortune 100 company, a university professor, an award-winning columnist and author of 15 books about leadership, emphasizing the connection between high performance and inspiring the heart, mind and soul. He is a man with a self-proclaimed dream: “To change the world by creating inspiring organizations.” Towards that end, he has dedicated his life to transforming companies and communities, changing the lives of the people who live and work in them, and revolutionizing the way leaders lead.

Secretan’s keynote address will look at community leadership as a way to bring business leaders together and inspire action as we continue to build a magnetic community in Grand Rapids.Secretan's Book

Prior to the Annual Meeting, Secretan will also be offering an afternoon workshop focused on developing personal leadership. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about his CASTLE® principles of leadership—Courage, Authenticity, Service, Truthfulness, Love and Effectiveness. They will also discover their personal level of inspiration—what Secretan calls your “Why, Be, Do” to help people live and lead to their full potential. He will coach workshop attendees on raising performance with relationships and a values-centered approach to leadership.
