"While sharing Chamber benefits with fellow members, I’m often asked about Busy Bea’s Services and what I do. This is my opportunity to share about my business and how I take advantage of (or and how I make full use of) my Chamber membership. 10% of my revenue last year came from business acquired because of my service as an Ambassador (for the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce)! Being an Ambassador is a WIN WIN relationship for us both!”

Cindy Locklin
President & CEO
Busy Bea’s Services

"Thank you to the chamber staff including the number of ambassadors that took time from their schedule to attend our Open House. I believe it was a great success but wouldn’t have been as HUGE of a success without the support and partnership of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce."

Scott Jousma
Sales Director
Great Lakes Bottling Company

Ambassadors Committee

Ambassadors Committee members serve as liaisons between the Chamber and its members by personally visiting and calling their peers. Through their efforts, Ambassadors help fellow members engage in the programs, events, and money-saving opportunities that help them make full use of their membership. They also attend and aid Chamber staff at our various networking and Ribbon Cutting events.

The GRACC Ambassadors Committee is looking for a few individuals to join the ranks of this elite volunteer corps. Ambassadors' activities directly support the Chamber’s goal of connecting members to resources they can use to grow and succeed. Interested? Take the first step by checking out the Ambassadors Committee Handbook & Application.

Congratulations to Janet Hentges, Ambassador of the Year 2012!

Janet Hentges of Achievement Resources has earned Ambassador of the year for 2012!

Janet has participated in the Ambassadors Committee since June, 2011. During this time she has connected with numerous members providing information about their membership, ways to make the most of their involvement, and welcoming the newest members. During the past year, she attended 70 of the 96 chamber ribbon cutting events, served as the committee secretary and was proud to represent the Grand Rapids Chamber at the Statewide Ambassador conference this past September in Jackson, MI.  Janet was recently elected by her peers to serve as the 2013 Ambassadors Committee Vice-Chair.

Janet says “As a former business owner, I understand the importance of making clients and people feel special.  Bringing this mindset to the Ambassadors Committee helps me understand businesses better and allows me to help them connect through their membership.”

Janet enjoys being involved with the Chamber and several other community organizations where she can network and introduce people to one another.

Achievement Resources, the 2012 Minority Owned Business EPIC Award Recipient, brings a fresh approach to the business of consulting with a strong desire to help individuals and businesses become better at the things that matter most.  They emphasize the importance of building organization cultures that value caring, collaboration, innovation and resourcefulness.  By helping people develop their skills, confidence and motivation, they help companies grow.

Meet your Chamber Ambassadors!

Each month, the Chamber will "spotlight" a few of our volunteer Chamber Ambassadors.  This month, we are introducing you to Valarie Cook of Prince Conference Center, Angela Hanks of Chemical Bank, and Michelle Damstra of Axios / Office Staffing.
